dad took me to watch an egyptian movie
a horribly put together movie implying that all the country's ills are down to the president's inner circle conniving to shield him from the sorry state of the common people's lives) at the cinema in one of the gated communities in the western suburbs of 6 October. we must have been the only ones in there without babies who quarreled, cried and moaned throughout the already tediously long film (and what's with the intermissions?). the cairo cinema (with tickets priced at a maybe too affordable US$3) is a popular egyptian family outing.
